When installing a new chain on my Eco the cams slipped and spun........ Does anyone know how to put both cams and crank back into timing?
Thanks, Ed
Visual adds would help tremendously!

Ecos are interference motors right (noob question) so i dont want to F%$& myself and get the timming off.
How much did you spin them??? It should be a matter of rotating the timing marks back down to where they should be. If you spun them too muc and cant recall, you might be best off to remove the valve covers and double check.

ok so now we put number 1 cylinder at top dead center and the mark at 5 o clock like i should be. and the cams at 2 ans 10. my question is now how many revolutions does it take for the marks to line back up with the colored link?
Camshafts turn 1.5 times faster than the crank so should take roughly 2 of the crank to bring things back around. I'd almost be tempted if I was you to pop the valve covers if that doesnt work.
vavle cover is off all new parts including cam gears.
ps, we turned the chain about 5-7 times. i heard some where it could take 100+ not sure though.
Oh wow didnt realise you replaced valvetrain parts and or cams. You will be best off to degree those cams to get everything right. You can eyeball it if you have a dial gauge. not the best though cause you can get the TDC on the wrong side of the duration and problems. Get a cam degree tool, generally cheap. I've never degree'd a twin cam myself but would assume same scenario. just do it twice. It should come with general directions to get you going.
If the timing marks don't line up on both gears, get the cam set (by turning the crank until the cam gear lines up with the tensioner tab), remove the chain, then move the crank until it lines up. you'll prob have to put the hub and pulley bolt back in to turn it.
with the chain off, you can rotate the cam and crank shafts freely to get them lined up. (the crank may move a little while trying to get everything off). you might as well replace the tensioner with everything else.
