i have a 96 cavi 2.2 just put the motor in has a brand new timing chain. runs great i am getting 32 mpg. but it makes this wierd nose. not a growling or ticking more like a light hollow knock. i just need thoughts of what y'all think and if you would be worried. you can hear it if you go to youtube and type in cavalier engine noise part 3 please let me know i appreciate all the help guys. thanks

More than likely its your pulley that's loose and eventually come off. Fix the problem asap

which pulley? did you listen to the noise? jw. i was thinking maybe a chipped tooth on a gear or something but never experienced a noise like it so im not sure

Did you relace the tensioner and the pullies?

i didnt do it my friend who put the motor in did it. hes a mechanic i trust his work so im sure he did it right. its not rattling my last engine rattled this one is just a weird hollow kinda noise

Its the tensioner then , tighten it
