when my car is cold it makes a squeaking noise simillar to a belt but its not. ive narrowed it down to the water pump. when my car is warm it doesnt do it. belt is good pully is tight. everything is fine no leaks either. i took the the bet off and felt side to side just a hint of play. not alot just a little , is that to much what y'all think?

I would check the idler pulley and tensioner also. I know that alternators will do the exact same thing your describing,so I wouldn't rule it out.
I doubt its the water pump, but I could be wrong.

well i know the noise its making is very odd for a water pump. there is a slight amount of play in the shaft of the waterpump. im sure its the pump though i put the stethascope on it a you can hear it clear as day but cannot in any of the other pulleys. i thought maybe it was the belt so i put a little dressing on it and didnt make a difference. the noise is only coming from the pump but i thoughts maybe the belt was slipping on that pulley a little when cold or something but i dont know that dressing didnt make a difference. its just weird.

Sounds like what my Trans Am does. The grease in the idler pulleys gets old and dry and cause the squeak. On that car I can take the pulleys off, pop off the retainer ring thingy and re grease the bearings. Take the belt off and roll the pulleys by hand. If you feel any catching or grinding, replace it or try to grease it. They should also spin fairly freely.
