I have a 2000 cavalier 110000 miles. 2.2 automatic. I just started to stall when driving. It is not showing any codes. I am able to restart it no problem. It has happened while on the interstate and while pulling in to a parking spot. Have replaced the fuel pump, spark plugs and wires.
Could be a vaccum leak. I need more details. Did it happen while accelerating or decellerating? Only in drive? How fast were you moving? What were the temperatures about, and how often has it happened and when did it start?
It has happened while accelerating and decelerating. So far only while driving. First time was on interstate doing 55 trying to speed up. pressed on gas pedal nothing, felt bogged down. got off highway, slowed down for light and it died. It started up fine. Got to parking lot and died as pulling into spot. Next time was at stop sign. Started up just fine. Then again when pulling into parking spot. Has all happened after the car has reached normal operating temp. Started Sunday/3 times. did not drive it monday. tues no problem. Wed. died once pulling into parking spot.
Iac valve maybe? That's kinda a weird problem but I suppose it could be the Iac could just be sticking but thats just a shot at it. Check your tps to. Just to be sure .
Did you change th fuel filter maybe it clogged, also check for the fuel pressure regulator
well i replaced the fuel pump. Still died. Fuel filter was done about 2 months ago. I then replaced the fuel pump relay and it has yet to die. Hopefully its fixed. Thanks for all the advice.
