I have a 1999 with a bad engine (#1 compression almost 0), burned a bit of oil as well.
So...
Have a line on a 1998 - does anyone know of any differences on that engine from 2.4, computer, etc?
I am thinking I can drop in 1997-2000 years, but need advice.

96 - 98
99 - 02 are the differences in motors / PCMs / Harness

96-99
00-02 are the differences in manual transmissions

To put a 98 motor in your 99, you'll need to run the 98 PCM and harness. (the 98 has EGR and a different size knock sensor)
