4-2-1 header problem with o2 sensor
Wednesday, September 21, 2011 11:43 AM
the upstream o2 sensor on my 04 cavy is waaay to short to connect to the o2 sensor port on the header. the downstream has a different connector than the upstream. would it work out if i bought a downstream o2 sensor and spliced it to the upstream o2 sensor connector?

Is there a specific plug you need for the O2 sensor or can you make a jumper/extension wire for it? that would be about the equivilent of splicing the connector for the downstreem sensor

It would be easier to try and trace the front 02 through the harness and cut it out of part of the harness (and I mean that by cutting the electrical tape that tapes it to the rest of the harness).

I had the same problem with mine. Just do what Leafy said above and cut the tape and let a little more wire out of the harness.

Come to think about it, it did the same with the tsudo header. If you cut the tape you can get plenty of room to extend the sensor to where it needs to go.
