If my hvac vent selector is not working and air is comming out of every vent... Would it just be the one vac hose going into the hvac panel that I would have to check... Or do I have to look for the box that has the flaps that control the air flow.. I need to get the front defroster working again.. Thanks in advance

You can't just post it here for everyone else to see? Maybe others have this problem too

I had the same problem and it turned out the actuator that controls the flap broke off the housing making it nonfunctional.

Mine was the steel cable that connected the turn knob in the hvac to the direction controller near by the steering column was snapped at one end of the cable.

My problem was one of the vac lines came off the intake (right under the throttle body) was not connected... Wanted to kick myself when I seen it was off

did a search couldn't find what I was looking for.
new to cavvy's forgive me
I have a 93 I know the HVAC controls are vacum acuated, but can't figure out why it only blows through the vents and floor heater but not the windshield. could it be a bad actuator?
I have the dash torn apart now and can see all the lines .
there are two coming from the fire wall (black tubes) only one is hooked up could this be the problem?
also on the back of the control there is one port not hooked to anything.
I can change the settings and watch the switch from the back and it moves freely and clicks at each spot.
any sugestions ?
again sorry if this is a NEWB question.
