Ive been told by a few mechanics that I need to replace the ac clutch. My cars been making a loud grinding noise for years. It's annoying and sounds like crap. My buddy ordered me a new clutch. Is it possible to eliminate the ac in general? Do they sell a kit? And where? It's also a 2.4
If you want to just eliminate the A/C(temporarily), i wouldn't even bother with taking it off, BUYING a bypass pulley for $30ish. Then having to find a place for the wire that plugs into the A/C compressor. If i were you, i'd just buy a smaller belt, and don't put it on the A/C. Then you can always put the right belt back on it, if you ever wanted to fix the A/C later on.

Anyone has the part number for the compressor clutch?

When you turn on the AC, does the grinding noise go away?
