So i bought my new z24 about 3 months ago, 2001 z24 with all options but a sunroof. Well when i bought it the dealer didnt give me a key fob for the keyless entry. No big deal, i had one i wasnt using from my other z24 so i took it to my buddy to program with the tec2 he has at work, programs fine. I notice that the doors will lock but the driver side door will not unlock. So i buy a lock actuator on ebay, start to change it and decide to plug it in to see if its actually the actuator, plug it in and still doesnt unlock!!! So at this point im tracing wires and testing for continuity. No broken wire from the actuator to inside the kick panel. Check the lock relay above the passenger kick, its fine. traced the driver side wires to the bcm. Is there a chance that just the unlock part went bad in the bcm? I bypassed the wire from the bmc into the door and ran a wire to the relay so it functions as the passenger side does, no more 2 step unlock but i didnt like that feature anyways plus i have a 2 way alarm/start combo on the car so its all good. I just wanted to share this with you guys and to see what you think about it. Happened to anyone else before?
