I am working on a 04 Cavalier 2.2 DOHC Ecotec engine

from what I have read about the camshafts sprocket timing at TDCC being set at these positions: Exhaust 10:00 Intake 2:00 crank dot 5:00....

Do the marks have to be spot on? or as long as the colored links are at there respective marks on the cam sprockets, but not quite sure if the sprockets are at the correct clock reference number, but looks like they are (this engine is on a slight tilt back to the firewall) will the computer compensate for the sprockts being at, for example ...Exhaust 10:15, Intake 2:15?

sorry hope I'm not confusing anyone, just think that to be spot on, I have to have the engine out of the car, on a stand, with some sort of engineers dial....so the cams can be dialed in correctly

The timing marks are just close.

As long as The marks line up with the colored links your fine.

The computer doesn't have to compensate for anything since the chain and marks are just there for reference.

Cylinder one to tdc, intake to 2 and exhaust to 10, and crank to 5.
