Hello,
2004 Sunfire 2 door coupe
Just replaced the original (110,000 km) struts with Munroe quick struts.
Do I need alignment?
Walt
If the bolts are in the same place, why would it need alignment?
I've not had alignment since new and I don't have uneven wear on my tires.
It's not an argument man you need an alignment. Sorry you didn't like the answer but that doesn't change the fact.

How do you know the bolts are in the same place? Is the strut mount in the same place? Ball joint? What about spring seats?
Anytime you disassemble any of those things, you need an alignment. And for the price of a lifetime alignment these days, why wouldn't you?
X3 an Alignment is mandatory I guarantee your toe and camber is off, James and Yellow are dead on. There is no way you can eyeball bolt locations, The new struts probably came with along gated holes to adjust camber with. Yes no doubt you need an alignment there is no argument or discussion about it, and get a real alignment with camber, and toe adjustments. Not just a set the toe and let it go alignment, Caster will cost a tad more because they have to grind the holes where the strut bolts to the car for adjustments to that. GET AN ALIGNMENT.... If you decide to lower the car in the future.... GET AN ALIGNMENT I know its no the answer you want to hear, but the truth will set you free
Thanks to those with the INTELLIGENT posts.
I could tell the alignment was off so I had it done.
They charged me $60 extra to grind the hole in the strut to make the wheel position true, as posted by Tha Dyce.
Car handles so much better now with the new struts.
Oh yeah and by the way, Another thing that will work on your alignment...... Fat girls So if you've been carrying a fat girl and her friends around for a while don't be ashamed to say " Hey babe you've been ridin with me for a while.... I need you to go in half on this alignment with me"
