Ive got the turn signal, the cruise computer with bracket and throttle cable, and the wiring harness from the cruise computer across the firewall but cut where it enters the cab. Installing the turn signal switch and computer should be easy, but I need help with the wiring.
Has anyone done this before? Adding factory cruise to an Ecotec?
There are 10 wires in the harness, can someone tell me what they are for? It looks like 4 of them go to the cruise switch on the end of the turn signal stalk. Where do the other 6 go? Fusebox? Brake and cruise switches?

I give up, Theres no cruise wiring harness to be found. And I heard the ECU might have to be "re-flashed" for cruise. I found a pro in town to do the install for about $300-350 based on whether he uses my factory turn signal or not.
Have you had any luck with this? Is the person you found installing factory cruise or aftermarket?
I'm trying to add factory cruise to my 2004 Cavalier. I've gotten everything off of a wrecked car. I replaced the turn signal arm with the one containing the cruise switch, I've installed the cruise module under the hood and run the wiring harness. Everything plugs in except for 3 wires from the cruise module. One goes to the VSS which is hooked up correctly, one goes to the "cruise control engaged signal" which is a light blue wire with a black stripe (I only found one of these so I'm pretty sure it's correct). The third wire is supposed to be for the "cruise control inhibit signal" which is a green wire. Unfortunately there seems to be several green wires in the harness and I've had no luck conecting to one that allowed the cruise to work correctly. Any suggestions?

Thank you for writing and thank you for your past business. You may use the Rostra Global Cruise on the 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier (2.2L?). This is part # 250 - 1223, and the kit sells for $253.41. The Cavalier will also require an Adjustable Angle unit which is p/n 250 - 3421, and the cost is $34.54.
It looks like you may have about 3 different control (engagement) switches to choose from. One is a push button type p/n 250 - 3742 ($49.41) that would replace the standard 250 - 3421 (about $35.00). The other choice is the RF switch (Radio Frequency) that you can mount on the steering wheel. This is part number 250 - 1485, and the cost is $83.09.

Unfortunately (for you) I gave up and paid a guy to install a universal kit but use the factory turn signal. Cost me $325 yesterday. I dont care, it was a pain trying for months to find the parts, and I dont have the wiring harness (well only part of it). I was tired of not having cruise. If you search for my other threads on cruise control, I post a link to a cardomain site I made just for cruises.

Well, if I ever get this thing working, I will definitely be posting the solution. I'll probably just put it on my website. When I get time, I plan to check out the cruise setup on my sister-in-law's '03 with factory cruise. Tracing her wires I should be able to make sure that I at least have the right connections.
I've checked everything thoroughly. The wiring is all correct and the switches are working. Does anybody know if the PCM has to be re-flashed when you add cruise?

I had tore apart a few J's in the junkyard trying to add cruise control and where it hooked up and all that. Dang things were all different in the third gen. After looking at where the wires went, and studiyng schematics, I did what was fastest and dependable.. It cost me about $11,000 for the exchange on the Cavalier with cruise control. So I think you had got a pretty good deal at $325 for a Saturdays work.

I had aftermarket cruise professionally installed on my '04 cav for either $200 or $250...cant remember.
Anyway, he put in an extra aftermarket lever, but I plan on buying the factory turn signal lever and switching over the wires to get rid of the extra lever.....eventually
