I was wondering if you guys or girls could help me out with something. is there some kind of guideline as to how much dealerships can charge for labor. i really need to know because i am having problems with my local dealership. i don't think that it varies from state to state but i would appreciate any help possible. thanks.

65 an hour is the industry standard, even thou a tech at a dealership makes alot less then that. other costs go to the company i guess.

There is no government or regulatory body that sets a shop's per hour rate. They can adjust it up or down as they see fit just like Walmart can choose to sell a bag of chips for $1.88 or 50.81. Caveat Emptor (let the buyer beware) is the only way to go with any purchase, whether it is for goods or services. If you feel you are suddenly being ripped off or a quote has changed after work has been done, that's something entirely different.

"I count him braver who overcomes his
desires than him who conquers his enemies.
For the hardest victory is the victory over self."
