well my car started to chug REALLY bad, couldnt go about 3k rpms without misfiring BAD, so I drove home, turned it off...went inside to eat then came back and tried to start it...didnt fire. so I went to autozone to get plugs, I was taking my old ones out.. ALL 4 WERE SOAKED IN OIL. wtf does this mean.???? rings are broke in EVERY cylinder? hole in all for pistons? leaking through the intake manifold? is this motor done? btw its a 2.4
Yeah. That really does'nt sound good. I'd take that head off first and then check your gaskets(intake, head,etc), and then from there check your pistons. Might be easier to take it to a mehanic and let them deal with it. It is a PITA to check that stuff but that's just me.

well before you start ripping everything apart you could always do a compression test, also are you sure its motor oil and not fuel, does the motor oil smell like gas??
I high doubt you would have that much oil blow by start suddenly, or extreme valve seal failure. It is most likely fuel, does you engine have good spark? Is the coil weak? Is my injector harness shorted? Do I have compression?
Those are the questions you should be asking your self

I put in new plugs and runs fine...doesnt overhead, doesnt blow black smoke as if I was burning oil, oil pressure is fine.... im stumped.....I touched the plugs to see what it was and its OIL, I even tasted it ( dont ask )
hmm sounds pretty weird
I'd definetly be pretty paranoid about checking oil and coolant levels over the next few months tho
watch out for those stupid valve seals, and a compression/ leak down test might be a good idea to see if you have a possible blown head gasket
well just because you put in new plugs and it runs fine now, doesn't mean you solved the problem. A friends car did that, and he had to replace the plugs every couple of weeks, he finally just sold the car. i don't remember what his problem was.
is there oil on the plug threads ? oil from a leaky valve cover gasket.
yes it was on the threads....ALL 4 of the plugs, the ends seemed fine!
yeah I am 98% sure it is not oil in the cylinders, it is oil that bled down from the cam housings (leaky gasket), and filled the holes around the spark plugs. So when you took them out, they were soaking in oil.
The leaky gasket should be fixed so you dont have the same problem. It was probably misfiring because the plug was immersed in oil.
