Hey guys i dunno if this has been posted or not but i have a 01 Z24, auto. I put an aem short air intake on it and my air filter is kinda old. So today i was driving to work and i started to accelerate and i noticed a crap load of smoke comin out of the back and it wasnt from the exhaust, it was my engine, plus the car wouldnt shift it would just keep kickin back and what not. I think i need a new air filter on my intake but does anyone else have some ideas. Ne help would be appriciated.

What color is the smoke? Find out where its coming from in the engine bay.
I`m thinking your prolly running rich.....dont think its the air filter. Might be a bad fuel injector, fuel filter or fpr. I dunno just sounds fuel related. Maybe evena bad o2 sensor.

Yes officer I knew the speed limit was 50
Hook up the IAT sensor that is dangling from the wires.
That might explain it.
If not, you may have damaged it while reinstalling it in the intake.
Good luck.

If it was white smoke you just cooked your Ecotec. Pull your dipstick and see if any water is in the crank case. also check your Dex-cool and see if it has mixed with oil.
It was a bunch of white smoke coming out of the back but i dont have an ecotec. I think i am just going ot get the car serviced. It also sounds like something is bubbling or bouncing around in the air filter.

dude, if it's white smoke, you'll probably need more than a service as it's probably head gasket. stop the car now, and get it towed. i tried to drive mine and then cracked the head, blew a few cylinders, spent a lot of cash. head gasket, 7-9 hours labor easy........good luck, hope its not
im guessing u blew a headgasket, or blew a radiator hose.

Look right now and see if you have anything in your coolant tank. If not or if you see oil in there then you lost the head gasket. DO NOT DRIVE THE CAR BECAUSE YOU WILL HYDRO-LOCK IT.
a head gasket already, at 34k miles? well im gonna take it in and see what they say, ill check what u told me to too
I HATE MEXICANS!!!
ouch! cylinder heads and gaskets! I had to replace the head on my cav and found out I could have relaced it with a one that was ported and polished for 100 bux less. But anyway, mine was trashed from the head gasket and up
