Ok heres the problem during highway driving my car begans to shake at 77, after 85 it shakes HORRIBLY, The dash literally moves almost a complete inch, this happens everywhere in the car, most noticably the drivers side rear door. Now As my sig deplicts, I use my hand brake often. My tires on the rear are horrible to began with but I checked them yesterday and found a nice flat spot on one(didnt check the other). Do you think this is what causes my car to shake? Or am I dealing with a bigger problem?
You'll need to change the tires anyway, so start with this, and I'm 99.7% sure that it's your problem. I went from 140kmh to almost stopped with the four wheels locke ( long story, but goddam I did in my shorts that day... anyways ), and while they were'nt that bad flat spots, after 50 or 60 you could defeintely hear it a loud noise comming from the tire and the car was shaking like mad.
Had some Hydroedges put on, from michelin. Best damn tire move I've ever made.
Flat spots == big thud or shake when driving.
It is either the flat spots or your tires are horribly out of balance. Rotate your tires and see if the shake follows it. Most likely, you just need to quit playing with the handbrake and destroying your tires.
But of course before you replace your tires, go shred the current ones.
Wouldnt it shake at slower speeds? I dunno Im not much of a tyre guy but that sure seems odd. I cant rotate them cause they are that bad
why would you continue to drive w/ bald spots on your tires? its not very safe.
The missing rubber doesn't cause the tire to actually shake as much at lower speeds. As the speeds increase, the force of the shaking increases enough to be felt through the entire car. I'm sure that at the lower speeds, the tire is shaking but the suspension is able to absorb it enough that you don't feel it.

Thats sounds more like it, But I have some suspension issues as well, im just neglecting to take care of them until, well as long as it steers fine and doesnt shake lol.
