When I brake now, gently as I normally attempt to do in town, my car seems to roll to a bumpy stop. I'm not sure if I can describe this well, but it seems like I keep pumping my breaks when I'm stopping when I am really not. Its rather annoying, especially for passengers.
Also, when I am slowing down, my entire dash shakes. One of my friends sais he thinks its just like down shifting in a manual car, but I really have no idea.
Anyways, do you guys know whats going on with any of these two problems? Also, my car is still under warranty so I will be bringing it in when I get back from school, but I have an aftermarket intake installed. You think they would shaft my warranty with this? If so, i'll just put the stock intake back in.

Sounds like warped rotors. If your rotors are more than .003 out of round you WILL get a viberation.
My old car did that to, the dash would shake and so would the seats and the steering wheel.
Secondly brake parts, pads and rotors, tires and wheel balances, ARENT covered under warranty.

Rotors arent cheap I'd say about $75 for each one, so about $150 if you buy good ones if you buy cheap they will jsut warp easy and you have to replace them again.
Also you shold replace your old pads with new ones, you can replace worn out pads so new pads with old rotors, you shouldnt replace the old rotors so you have new rotors but old pads, the pads should, but they might not wear correctly with the new rotors, sometimes they do sometimes they dont, make sense, I wrote it confusing sorry, didnt try to.
Anyways new pads and new rotors it sounds like.

Any website or store that you recommend me to get rotors and pads from? I was checking out rksport and the prices line up with what you said, would that be a good place? Or should I just drive into a chain store.

I also agree with the warped rotor diagnosis.
I got my hands on a pair of Raybestos, "thicker/stronger" than OEM rotors for $50 each at Pep Boys.
I also replaced my pads with a ceramic mix for $50 for a set.
Total cost for decent gear was about $150, and about 2 hours of my time.
To replace them yourself, you only need your lug wrench from the trunk, a breaker bar, and an allen socket, the size I can't recall.
7 total bolts to DIY. You will also need a large C clamp, and a piece of steel (I used an old brake bad) to push the piston back into the caliper.
My girlfriend had hers done about a year ago, and it cost her $216. I saved $66 doing it myself.
My girlfriend's friend had her rotors and pads done, it cost her like $330. I saved $180 doing it myself.
If you have the tools, a little automotive know-how, and an extra pair of hands, I'd suggest doing it yourself.
If you don't feel confident enough to work around a car, or this particular project, I'd make a few calls to get an idea what people charge.

Ya, fairly easily. I've done mine before. Advance auto parts.com would be a good place to look at prices and what is available before going to the store.

"wear items" like pads, rotors, belts, hoses, bulbs, tires etc.....
Are ONLY covered if the malfunction is caused by a manufacturer's defect.
If the problem is just a worn part, or you broke it (and they can prove it) the item will not be covered.

wow, that sucks for all of you, i did it for about $25, and that includes rear shoes, new rotors, and pads, although i am in college for auto service. anyways if you have any friends in school for auto service (auto mechanics) i would let them buy the parts, most stores give a discount to the local tech students.

My second set of rotors have just been replaced, to. While they have the calipers off, have them check the pistons for binding or sticking. If they don't release, they'll drag and over heat the rotors-warping them. Calipers aren't typically 'wear' items, so you might have a case for a new brake job by GM. OE calipers aren't lifetime guaranteed, the new ones I just got are. GM may have skimped (again) on quality. I had the brake lines flushed every two years, and they (OE) still went south, albeit after nearly 170K miles.
How much does that Willwood Big Brake setup run that is on the homepage of j-body? I've been surfing their website and I can't find prices. Must cost a pretty penny.
