No need to replace PCV Valve?

My PCV Valve hasn't been replaced for at least 50,000 miles. I know the main thing you are looking for is that they rattle still. I pulled my old one out expecting it to be clogged or something and found it still rattles so I left the old one in it. Am I correct in assuming there is no need to change it then?

97 Cavy with a 2.2 Liter in it.

Correct,

Besides the fact of them not rattleing, another sign a PCV valve is bad is oil in the air filter box.

No oil in there as I changed the air filter just recently. Thanks for the information, Rob. That answered my question wonderfully.
