Well i was going to work and i was late i started my car and my battery light and abs light came on i didn;t think anything of it at the time. Well on my way home my car started to act funny like the radio started to get staticy to then point of no power and the car wanted to accelerate when i braked not hard but just a little and when the motor shifted the car jerked real bad anyway as soon as i pulled it in the garage and put it in park the car just died didnt even turn in off well when i tried to start it all it did was made a load fast clicking noise. All my lights and stuff work my car just wont work. I thought it is the alternator but i want to make sure if this has happen to anyone else or if you know what is going on please help me out on this one!

Could be the alternator....but don't forget the battery. I never had those symptoms with my car, but once I tried to start the car and I heard a loud clicking noise and the battery was dead.

But obviously a bad alternator would cause a dead battery So I'd say alternator would be a good guess.

Probably your alternator.

If it was a rapid clicking sound... almost like an automatic capgun clicking. It's a good chance your alternator crapped out. What happens is that the alternator isn't putting out enough charge and you're running off the battery...

When the battery runs out of juice... There's nothing left to run the car.

Take the alternator and your battery over to your local Autozone or Pep Boys and have them test the alternator and charge the battery for you.

Or you can be lazy and just jumpstart the car once you finish doing the alternator and let the car sit at idle for about 30 minutes or take it out for a cruise. The higher RPMs increase charge load to the battery charging it quicker. If you've got a kickin stereo. It might just be time for an Optima Red Top and a larger output alternator.

Just my $.02

Don't forget that a weak battery cab kill an alternator. If the battery is over a few years old replace it too if you find out the alt is bad.

God bless America.
