If it can, where is it and is there a procedure?

nobody can help here? My wife got 3 tickets the other day, one for speeding and the rest for stupid stuff like no registration or insurance card in the glovebox. I'd really like to attempt to clean it. Sombody told me it's a magnet that picks up metal shavings and stops working.

If the magnet has enough metal shavings on it to stop functioning, then you have major transmission problems. The sensor is a 2 wire sensor on your transmission, there are only two sensors, so if you get the wrong one, try the other one.

I know of a Neon with the same problem, but the connector on the instrument panel was bad. So, only some of the gauges worked and if you moved the connector just right everything would work. Do your other gauges/lights work correctly? If not, check the connector on the back of the cluster.

All other gauges work fine. The speedo was working intermitantly. For a while it would work once you got over 45 mph. Then it was 70, now nothing at all. Probably if I had the oportunity to reach 90 it would work again. The CEL is on and the code was for low signal voltage from speed sensor. Tansmission still shifts fine and still moves the car, so I'm not changing that out. I just want a temporary fix till the tranny does die.

Thanks for the replies gus.
