OK, 2 years ago, my 98z24 threw a rod. I put a 2001 2.4l twincam in it. Had a few problem with some sensors, but fixed it. But ever since this, when i start the car, it would be fine, the second i push the gas, the engine would sputter, and erratically heisitate. If i press the gas, it stalls. So i basically wait 20 seocnds until the idle returns to normal.

ANYWAY, that same motor spun a rod bearing, #3 on both actually, and i replaced the motor once again, with a 97 sunfire 2.4L . I had a prob with my 5 speed mam tranny, so i swapped eng and tranny from both cars. I have the same exact prob with the hesitation, in the next motor. I had new injectors, and throttle body. No parts were moved over to the new engine. So all sensors, and everything else was completely replaced.

ALSO, my cruise control worked on both engine for 1 day after both swaps, and then stopped working.

I figured the problem had to be related to something other than the engine. I replaced the fuel pump, and still same problem.

I am stumped. I don't know what to do.

NO CEL on at all.

ANY IDEAS?




New coil packs, coil pack housing and igniton, new spark plugs. FUel injector and regulator good.
