2004 bone stock Cavalier LS sport 5 speed.
put down 130whp and 136wtq.
what yall think?
ill see if i can scan the dynosheet up if you guys wanna see. but im guess all of you have seen a stock dyno graph lol.
I'd like to see the graph. I like to compare the torque curve and see what rpms the peaks occur at. To me it's not about peak numbers but a broad, flat torque curve.
Being all stock, those numbers go to show how GM underrated that motor.

the torque was very broad. stayed pretty much flat all the way accross, started to drop at 5500. hp was still going up at 5500 though.
i think monday i might put it back on the dyno and do a couple more runs. one with the A/C on full blast and another without and see just how much HP loss it really is. I think itd be fun to find out.

It really all depends on the dyno.

it was indeed a Dynojet, maybe ill use the superflow and see how the numbers differ.
it would be good if you modded and did a dyno for each. see how much each mod really makes......
Working on obtainting an M-Class license... ?? Hint: 2 wheels.
How do you have this much time and money for dynoing every other day
i dont think i am going to do any mods. i might do a simple saab turbo swap. but i use this as my daily driver. and there is a golden rule. DONT @!#$ WITH THE DAILY DRIVER lol
i have unlimited access to an AWD dynojet, and a 2wd superflow dynojet. so i just jump on whenever. lol.
but yea i wanna do some runs with A/C on max. im betting its pretty substantial. considering i turn the A/C on and the car turns into a turd,

it's kinda a turd if it's stock anyway lol
nah the little stock eco holds its own. im pretty happy with it. not as powerful as a big burly V8. but it isnt dog ass slow.
i just snapped a picture. shows the graph alright i guess.

fixed....
don't be scared to boost a daily, I did and was one of my best decisions ever. Just limit your boost ad make sure your tuning is on point.
@!#$ especially an eco...
not like this is a 2200 or anything. lol j/k
well id like to buy a dart iron eagle 302 block for my mustang, block that can handle 1500+hp. i think thatll be cooler then my cavalier being boosted. but you never know eh?
If you're really looking to improve on the Cav, put the money into fuel-efficiency mods. The money you'll save on fuel costs by doing this to your daily-driver will really help you build up the dough to build your 'Stang alot sooner. Then focus on making the Mustang your performance piece... 'cause I think it goes without saying that at any real cruise scene, you'll get more respect from the kind of guys that really made that scene what it is (traditionalists) with a built rear-driver than you will another blow-dried, twisted-drivetrain slot-rod. And that's the kind of respect that really matters. Plus they're just sick of the latter.
Go beyond the "bolt-on".
if i dumped money into my cavalier, everyone i know would make fun of me LOL. money should be spent on my turd of a mustang first.

agree 100% and i hate mustangs lol but the dyno with the a/c on and off would be neat to see

Hence what I said... And if your buddies hassle you over what money you put in the J, just tell them you're doing it to stretch your mileage. Something everyone is looking to do these days. Especailly with the new taxes coming on...

well heres my money pit that i spend money on.
Just got it running and did a walk around of her idling.

heres a short dyno vid of it. all dirty. did a baseline run, no tuning at all, didnt touch a thing. made 263whp 304tq NA untuned, stock bottom end. H/C/I swap. and a full exhaust, not to shabby considering this car put down 185whp stock back in the day and about 225 at the crank. the heads are getting ported and polished, little bit bigger of a cam, and hooking the wideband up from the dyno and tuning the carb from off the wideband, and throw some timing at her. should be good for well over 300whp. car already runs low 12's so im aiming for 12.0's NA stock bottom end.

i would love to know how much power the ac robs i defineatly feel the dirrefence whenever i run it

Get all the parts you need in a pile, and drive the car into it.
They will find their way into the correct places.
About a dyno with A/C on, it will be very difficult to get a good reading because as soon as you go WOT, the A/C compressor will shut off.
