ok i have a 02 cavalier with headers, exhaust, and intake but i have the stock 2L engine... and we all know that sucks! but i would like to know where i can find diffrent motors built or not with extras but something better then what i got.
thank you.
What engine do you have now? (a 2L was not available in 02), and what kind of power are you looking to get?
Did I mention I drive a 2000 Lumina now?-----wigm-tuners.org member
and a 4 cylinder only has one header

In 02 you have 2 different 2.2L engines and 1 2.4L engine.
Judging from the limited knowledge you have about engines in general (you can lift the hood and figure out which engine you have), I wouldn't suggest an engine swap of any kind!! Put an Ebay intake on and walk away. Go back to your computer and read, read some more, and then read again.
You got a lot to learn before you go past the typical bolt ons and try and tackle motor swaps.

thank you.
he already has an intake

I stand by response.
1-He doesn't know what engine he currently has, but has an "intake" on it?
2-He thinks he has "headerS"
3-He's ready to jump into a full motor swap????
He needs an education. This isn't the only place he can learn from but it is a good start. I wasn't trying to sound @!#$ish, but to the point is sometimes the best way to tell someone

its engine, not motor. a motor is electrical like your alternator or your starter
Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
technically an alternator is a generator since it produces a charge. but then again, any motor can be turned into a generator.

First off Andrio it would be helpful if you filled out your registry. As far as more power goes there are roughly two ways to go about it with your current motor, and of course another option is a motor swap to the 2.2 eco. Your a new member so the first thing I'd say to you is read.
There are a lot of threads on here to help, but I'll cut to the chase. The LN2's weak link is the cylinder head. Now this gives us more or less two options to get more air in (and out) to make power. First: turbo. Second: This is a little more complex. The head could be ported, could have +1mm oversize valves put in, could have higher 1.6 ratio rockers installed, and the cam could be reground. Cam regrind would probably give the most bang for the buck. Head porting can get expensive, but it might be possible to find someone selling a ported head on this forum. Also possible to port your own, but I wouldn't suggest it unless you really know what you're doing as a lot can go wrong. Hogging out ports isn't the way to go. Like I said there is a lot of reading to be done when going this route on some options. As a final note the throttle body could be swapped out to a 56mm from a 2.3L motor. Raises the powerband more than anything, but cheap and easy enough to do.
Engine swap: 2000 and up is a prime candidate for the 2.2 eco swap. Plenty of people have done it on here so you shouldn't have much trouble finding info. If I had any questions I couldn't figure out by reading I would probably contact PJ (the flyin swirl), but I would make sure I'd done my homework and not asking to be spoon fed.
You guys seriously attacked him because he said headers instead of header?
Its such a simple mistake, most people see it as headers since there are 4 runners. hence in their head, making it a plural word.
ohvrolla deserves cookies for actually answering him.
Beef up the internals and tranny, turbocharge the car, and add in some suspension mods to handle the car better.
You dont HAVE to port or swap anything. Like jazer on clubcav said, she turbocharged her car which is the same as yours, because she saw that most people doing ecotec swaps dont have the time, patience, or money, to do anything to the engine after the swap.

she also has a ported and built engine.

I never said she didnt, I said you dont need it unless you are going for big hp, because its a waste of money if you dont go over 250.
her bottom end was actually never built she had a built head but she never put in the rods and pistons she bought and now shes parting out
