The header below looks more like the extrude honed manifold that GM offers:

I want a header that boosts lows and mids, is the one above all for high end?
I thought the 4:2:1 headers was to boost lows and mids, but I have someone who has one made by RK Sports say it boosts the highs, takes off a hair on the low and the mids are the same.
I am tempted by this E-bay header only because I probably can use the heat shield with it and less heat will be under the hood as a result.
As for its performance, I am hoping someone here knows what this type of header off of E-bay helps performance wise will step forward with some intel. I don't trust what the MFG says, I want to hear it from the owners.
2003 Sunfire with 2 1/4 inch turbo muffler, 2 1/4 piping, 2 1/2 inch resonator, a 2 1/4 inch catalytic converter, 2 1/2 inch down-pipe, a 4:2:1 RK Sports 'clone' header, E-bay strut brace, ground wire kit and an AEM true cold air intake NOPI edition.
BTT, I saw someone on cobaltss.net saying these shorty headers give a good gain without losing any low end.
I would like more than one persons input though.
My wife's 2003 Ecotec 2.2 liter Sunfire:
* 2 1/4 inch turbo muffler
* 2 1/4 piping to a 2 1/2 inch resonator
* 2 1/4 inch catalytic converter
* 2 1/2 inch down-pipe
* a match ported 4:2:1 RK Sports 'clone' header
* an AEM true cold air intake NOPI edition
* 8 gauge ground wire kit
* Toyz front strut brace
* Vibrant rear strut brace
* Turbotech K brace
* and Russell stainless steel brake lines all around.
I will be using THIS ONE on my car eventually...
I can't testify as to the effectiveness, but it sure looks like a sweet piece!
