I just installed a cold air intake and it set off the check engine. i checked the codes and it was a code for iat sensor high input. And i was wondering if I put in a iat sensor for a 2.4 if it might correct the problem. Or if there is anything else I can do to fix it?
you got take it out the stock intake
8 psi with m62 and IAT under 100
I took it out of the stock intake and put it in the new cold air intake and plugged it in and it probably took about 15 to 20 minutes of driving before the check engine light came on. I tried turning the check engine light off but just came right back on. Thats why i was wondering if there was another car that I could take that iat sensor off of that will work on the 2.2 ecotec.
why would you want parts from a different car? it sounds to me like you may have broken a wire, or the sensor may actually be bad.

The reason i was asking about different cars was because if the sensor on the 2.2 is reading that there is too much air after adding the cold air intake. I was wandering if like the 2.4 sensor was set up for more air stock. I will try going to the dealer in the morning and pick one up.

IAT= intake air TEMPERATURE sensor. thus, it reads... you guessed it... TEMPERATURE. it has no way of reading VOLUME, only TEMPERATURE. there is something else wrong. either the wiring is faulty or the sensor itself.

I have a K&N Typhoon on my eco for a year and never threw a code. Im betting the sensor just failed. Just grab one from another Eco J and swap it in.

Do me a favor.
Look up the part number for the 2.2's IAT sensor. Then look up the one for the 2.4 sensor. See anything similar?
Try unhooking your battery for a while and letting the computers memory clear. Then allow it to re-learn everything after you hook the battery back up and let it run.
