is the 2.4L quad cam a interference engine? i just wanna know, and for you people that don't know what a interference engine is, is where the pistons make contact with the valves when the timing is off..
We only have 2 camshafts; it's a Twin Cam. The new version of the Quad 4 engine.

maybe im wrong...but i figured ANY engines valves would contact the pistons if the timing was off enough
There are non-interference engines out there. The 2.4 will definitely eat a few valves if the chain slips or breaks.

Had to pull the head on mine twice in one day due to lifter issues. Hurray for having several sets of extra valves laying around.

Damn, see I would of been done for a while. It took me 2 weeks to get workin on the car after my timing chain jumped, didnt want to deal with it.

ive definitely had my fair share of valve to piston issues...
so yes.
I'm tired of wasting my time... now I'm breakin' free.
Its about a 3 hour job to pull the head, replace a few valves and put it all back together.
