twas should actually be is and i will need to get to work on the repair soon. Since the car's gonna be down is there anything i can do to improve it's performance while not really removing anything more that what i have to to do the gasket repair? I have a 98 2.2L Cavi
That depends on what you have done already (empty profile) and what you plan on doing with the car...
If you haven't done anything yet, intake and engine/trany mounts are a good place to start.
Under the hood it's bone stock aside from a short ram intake. I don't have any Huge plans for the car i just want to improve the performance and handling of it a little here and there.
LS1/LN2 Lifter mod, since you have the head off.
Go beyond the "bolt-on".
Couldn't find the thread on the lifters can you link it?
LS7 lifters are supposedly drop-ins. smaller diameter shaft that is similar, if not the exact same, as the current LN2 lifters. best part, can go up to 7500RPM with ease.

Can you send a link to these lifters? I'm putting a valvetrain in my 99 cavy (cam, pushrods, valves, valve guides, rockers, arp studs, copper head gasket etc.) but I hadn't heard of this swap before
Hope is not a plan. Change is not a destination.
GM parts direct.
they're quite expensive. I was going to be buying 2 of them to test in my spare head that I'm building up, but I have to get some extra moolah first.
