Seeking throaty exhaust sound

Hi,

I own a Cavalier z24 2000 with the usual 2.4L Twin Cam 4 cylinder engine.

So far my exhaust upgrades are:

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Manufaturer: Pacesetter
Tubing:1-1/2"
Colector: 3"
Design:1, 3, 6, 11

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Manufacturer: Magnaflow
PART#: 14802
DESCRIPTION: Inlet/Outlet Size: 2.25in./2.5in.
Body Shape: 5in.x8in. Oval
Core Size: Dual 2in.
Body Length: 14in.

I still have the stock piping and cat in my car. It still sounds like a Honda with a fart can to me (which I hate)

Im planing on having my exhaust pipes custom made. What size pipes should I get? Should I remove the cat? High flow Cat? Cherry-bomb?

I want my exhaust to sound as close to the one on this video as possible.

Thanks for the help.

get a high flow cat and the longest cherry bomb glass pack you can find. and since your NA just go with 2.25 piping

I couldnt DISAGREE more.

I also have that Header; Im rockin a magnaflow highflow cat with a magnaflow muffler and custom 2.5 piping. I have heard similar set ups with 2.25 and it just sounds raspy and annoying. 2.5 all the freakin way, besides if you decide to boost later your set. I might switch to superturbo muffler and resonator though...

I will help you with the most important part.

1. Buy and install the turbo

ditch the magnaflow exhaust... they sound like ass

go 2.5" piping the whole way, and get a high flow cat.

so basically the setup should be:

Headers -- 2.4in pipe -- highflowcat - -2.5in pipe -- 2.5in cherrybomb glasspack -- magnaflow

or

Headers -- 2.4in pipe -- highflowcat - -2.5in pipe -- 2.5in cherrybomb glasspack -- 2.5in pipe

????

and then run it open down-pipe.
seriously, the reason it sounds so ballsy in the video (other than the turbo thing) is because its an open exhaust. he has a cutout on the exhaust, so either its open, or its before he mounted the rest of it up. i know that vid is pretty old at this point so it could be either or.

for 2 years i had a pacesetter header with a 2.25" magnaflow cat welded rite to the downpipe, 2.25" cat-back piping and a Dynomax superturbo muffler. a resonator wouldve made it sound a little better, but i was pretty content with the way it was. i would reccomend.
my new setup is going to be a 4-2-1 style header, 2.5" downpipe, 2.5" magnaflow cat, 2.5" piping and a Magnaflow 2.5" muffler. unsure how its gonna sound.
mufflers are easy enough to change if you don't like the sound, and resonators are cheap and easy to have installed. everyone has different taste when it comes to exhausts. really have to try stuff to find what you like.
