Thats a pretty vauge question.

What are you working on? Year, motor, and transmission? Knowing stuff like that helps.

Where you want to run your piping also has an affect on your question.

Im personally working on an 99 LD9, running my piping in the bay and not under the car. I konw I have to move my coolant tank slightly, trim the headlight bracket, move my ECU slightly and also relocate my horn.

I also moved my battery, wasnt required but it will make it look cleaner.

My recommendation to you is to do some searching in photos & media and see what others have done.
There is no right or wrong way, everyone has different things in their bay that can play a roll on where to route piping.

Also having piping to play with is a good start. Thats how I mocked up mine.

What I did with my 2.2 Eco- relocated battery to trunk, relocated ecu to factory battery tray, deleted a/c and washer res/air bong, cut front coolant res leg/bracket, cut out holes to run pipe out of the bay and inside the front bumper. All this to run the pipe how i wanted it. A/c was deleted also cuz i don.t use it and car is totally gutted. If you want pics just ask. I have a bunch of build pics on my facebook also just add me facebook.com/bigjim407.

I didn't have to do much relocating but I am going to be running a smaller honda battery and had a new battery tray made for the new setup. Heres some pics of how my pipes went. It was some tight fitting in some areas but I'm pretty happy so far.

um my turbo might end up mounting the other way, like intake wheel on the oposite side that you have so basicly a 180 degree flip.
is that a problem.. bc my wastegate would be in the way if i mounted it your way.. an off topic quick question that i need answered my waste gate... should i vent that to the atmosphere under the hood or have it ran to down pipe and welded into my exhaust? pros cons? options? thank you.

I mouted the turbo that way because it was easier to get the intercooler piping routed to fit better. You can put it however you want you"ll just need to play with the piping a little more. It was pretty tight back there thats why I have the turbo the way it is. Heres a pic to show how tight it was.

I'm going to vent mine to atmosphere, just cause I like the sound of open wg's. You can recirculate it back into the exhaust but you loose the sounds I like. I have heard there may be a slight performance advantage to an open dump but I have to dyno numbers to prove that, its just what I have been told. I'm running an 1" 1/2 dump if I remember correct.

Technically to be legal for most street nights and to pass emissions you need to have the waste gate go back into the exhaust but as far away from the turbo as possible (to prevent turbulence). If you have going to have it dump at least try and bring it down the ground and not just straight into the engine bay.

Matthew, what size turbo are you running?
Did you have to "massage" the firewall at all for it to fit?

Im going t be running a T04E and it looks like I might have to make some extra room for it.

This may help you out on your dp routing, I did do a recirculated dump for my wastegate

I am running a T04E as well. No modifications to the firewall were needed for me.

Your gonna have to make a downpipe. Its not too bad if you have some patience.

how though... my step dads a welder but we dont have 220 for his welder. would it be expensive to be made?

Depends where you get your welding done if you cant at home. I mocked mine up peice by peice marked them and had someone at a shop weld them for me. You can see my lines on the downpipe marked A to A etc. Get a flange, buy some pipe and start from there. Here is the pipe I used, its vibrant (canadian company) so im not sure if you can get it but im sure there are other sources. http://vibrantperformance.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=1022_1065
