dont know what to do

well i am to the part where i have done everything i could to my car (04 cav) now i have to eather start wrking on my engine and build my engine and turbo it and get a paintjob or just buy a new car that is already turboed and then find a different car to build. i love my cav it just i dont know if i should drop 8000$ into it cause for that price i can save the 8000 sell my cav and then put that as a down payment for something faster and nicer! so what do you think?

Is it your primary vehicle? what would you do with the 8k if you spent it on the car? If the car breaks, do you have a back for getting to work? If you bought a new car, you'd still have a car payment.

Depending on the answer to those, I can give my opinion.

Buy another Cavalier/Sunfire and keep your current one as your project car. Cavalier/Sunfires are relatively inexpensive.

Sell the Cav, and get a cobalt SS/TC if you want it to just be easy. Having a DD plus a car to build is really the best option if it is feasible for you and you love the cavy make it happen captain!

you already own the cav right? its a nice feeling owning your own assets because otherwise youre basically risking a lot of money down the drain if it totals out. You still pay the bank back and more times than not, you wont get back what you invested without higher insurance rates.

I second a backup vehicle. Ive almost ALWAYS had 2 or 3 since i was 16 (bought with my own money by actually having a job lol). Go buy a reliable 96-2001 jeep cherokee 4x4 for under $3k, then start building your turbo setup you wanted. You sound like you have a decent start with the rods/cams etc that your description says. Youre already half way to a good turbo build as youve already beefed up the internals, which is where most skimp on.

Ive owned a few XJ's and let me tell you, there isnt an SUV/4x4 on the market today that compares to the power/offroading/reliability of those for the money.

04 Cav. 2dr. 5spd. My DD. 'Nuff said.
