Paint Shops Around Durham

Hello..

I am the owner of a 1990 Chevy Beretta (and 05 Cobalt SS)... Well my Beretta has been in the bodyshop all summer getting the bodykit installed, bodywork and more bodywork until the bodyman was perfection with and bodywork issues., Custom work done on the car, seats installed and seatbelts moved, etc... The list goes on...

Well basically I just need the car to be painted.. All the bodywork is done and it's been primered a couple times etc.. I have yellow primer on there now and whatnot.. Well I am really not looking to spend a crap load of money one getting it painted.. As I am not even 100% certain that I am keeping the car.. Cause I would like to put alot of money into my Cobalt to make it go fast!! And I also want a bike, but I am not 100% sure yet..

I wanted to do a 2 tone colour.. Like yellow on the bottom and black on the top or whatever.. I was thinking about doing it in either 2 step or 1 step.. So I guess that would be Urethane Base or Acrylic...

Now to be perfectly honest.. I am looking to get it painted for about $400-500... I mean I am really not looking to spend much.. If anyone knows of anyone who could paint it that would be great.. I mean I could wait and get it painted for more money during the winter.. But even still I dont want to spend alot of money.. But if I have to then I will.. But if I dont have to then I wont..

If any knows someone personally that can do this or a place that will do it for a decent price then that would be great.. If I could keep the cost under $1000 that would be good.. If I have to do just yellow then I will.. I can supply the paint maybe (but my friend has been dicking around)..

Any help would be great.

pm crazy on j-body.com. He did my car for me. Full colour change for a great price. He had the car for 2 weeks, stripped off the old paint, fixed dents, realigned my front and rear bumper. There are pics in the pictures forum if you want to see them. Just look for my screenname and the topic "new paint"

KID???

I am older then you

I talked to TOM.. Haven't talked much.. But briefly..

Like I said about $1000 (no more then that).. I don't think someone painting a car in there garage on the side is going to charge $1000 for the paint job.. Without the paint supplied by him..

Cause if they is the case.. I can get my car painted with paint supplied by painter.. In a booth at a GM dealership done by a professional painter for $1200..

That is probably what I will end up doing like I said.. I just wanted to see what other people got for deals in the $500 range.. It's not like I don't have the money.. I have the money without a issue.. But if I could I would like to save it for other things for my 2005 Cobalt SS..

tom would probably be around that price of $1000 with all the work and time he puts into the car

if you just want it scratched a sprayed im sure he could do it cheaper but thats for him to tell ya

and a cheap GM job doesnt always mean its good...my first car had orange peel all over it and runs like you wouldnt believe....they just rush sh!t in and out

Sorry.. It's not GM painting the car. It's a guy who paints cars on the side.. And uses the paint booth at the Dealership he works for... I use to work there as well, not sure if I know the guy tho cause it was my sale's buddy who talked to him.

So ya it's not a GM job. Just done by a GM painter in a GM booth on his own time..

I am acutally lookin for a booth job.. I dunno we will see.. I havent seen Tom online since I last talked to him.. I had some messed up hours this (last) week
