There was a tragedy this weekend in our neck of the woods. I'd like to extent sincere condolences to the Kelly family. Rick has been around this scene for many years, and although he doesn't post much/at all here, most of us know who he is. Rick lost his wife this weekend, and anyone who knew Leslie, knew what a great person she is. Sadness befalls Durham region, through senseless violence.
RIP Leslie, you'll be dearly missed by all whose lives were touched by you.

it brings me to tears to think that someone could do something like this to such a good person, this is not what she deserved and to do this to a innocent child there are no words for it
but if anyone is interested in a donation to rick and their kids i am setting something up, and i should have more details by the end of today or tomorrow as to exactly what we are doing
I read that on JCO. This is very disturbing.
I also do not know Rick personally, but I am very sorry to have to hear such news.
Its hard to lose someone you love and no matter what, all of us here will be thinking about you and have you in our prayers.
A tragic day is upon us, sad to see the blatent disregard for a human life.

I did not know the kelly family but I'm very sorry to hear about this. This is very tragic and sad that such a thing could happen at any time to good people.

Suffice it to say, I was hugely shocked to hear that news this morning. I never would have guessed he wouldn't make it through, I still don't believe it.
We're all suffering a massive loss at this time.

Found out early yesterday morning...deffinately floored me as I was not expecting this. RIP Rick, your contributions to the (DRJ) club, our lives and the other lives around you will not be forgotten...Thanks, you taught me so much about the scene and it was an honour to stand beside you at XTS 2008...you will never be forgotten.
As for the attacker, I'm gonna balk on commenting on that and I hope everyone else does as well. This person paid the price for his actions, and is no longer relevent to the situation lets please focus our attention on helping and supporting the family through this unimaginably difficult time.

i know this is an extremly old post and i probably shouldn't bring it back to the top, but as Rick & Leslie's best friend, i want to thank all of you that spoke kind words and provided support during that time. again sorry for bringing back an old post. I just wish you could have all met him and enjoyed his friendship as myself and a lot of others people did.
