86 Buick Somerset T-Type
Tuesday, August 03, 2010 8:13 PM
So my dream car showed up at parts galore. A reasonabl;y complete, clean 86 Buick Somerset T-Type. N-Body, Buick's flavor of the Grand Am. 3.0 HO V-6, 150HP, 180 TQ from what I remember. I asked them how much for the car at Parts Galore and they said they start at $1000 with a salvage title. This woul have needed rims/tires, battery an cables, and that is just to get it to start - then the mystery of why it ended up in there.

It made me sad to walk away, but not worth my marraige...

Do tell. Even though it might be a sad story, I'd still like to know the reason it was there.

Paul, when I was younger I loved these things too. There was a woman down the street that bought one new, and it was the first car I saw with a digital dash and LCD stereo. Every morning I'd hear it fire up and drive away with that distinct GM V-6 burble. Nostalgia rules. Maybe its fate that brought you back to one...

Daryl-

Great to hear from you. I have to keep my distance becuase if I go back there I will buy it. I kust have too many irons in the fire right now.

Hope things are going well with you. Get that new carpet yet?

Thanks Paul, hope you had a great summer and got out to some shows. I'm hoping to catch Woodward next year if I can get my act together. I hear you about the 'keeping your distance" thing. cars will follow you home otherwise...

I didn't get the carpet. I still have samples and know what I want. I just haven't pulled the trigger since I've been working on the house and other cars this summer. I feel so bad that I've neglected the Cav...but its been low priority for now.

Daryl-

I need an oil pump for the BP well, I mean my 84, but should have that and other stuff squared away by Woodward next year.

Would like to catch up with you if you make the trip.

Paul
