ok my car has been acting up latley, and i have done alot of work on it... but can the filter canister thing in the engine compartment be the problem. my friend says it is not letting the tank get air and is causeing pressure to build in the tank to @!#$ up the fuel pump and will not let it pump right. is this it...
ITS ALLWAYS THE STUPID @!#$!!!!!
the vacuum canister? Could be a problem, but what is your car doing, what engine does it have etc etc?

it idels rough. and has no power and i get a real strong smell of gas from the engine and exaust it gets real bad sometimes... but it stops all of a sudden, and it has a 2.0 MPFI.
replaced
1. MAP senser
2. plugs and wires
3. Fuel filter
4. Rad
5. Starter (lots of fun!!)
6. Alt
not all at once
Sounds like a possible vacuum leak or a bad O2 sensor, check your vacuum lines for any cracks or disconnects, I've never had any problems with a vacuum canister on my Js but that could be it too, A bad O2 sensor could cause your problems too. course a lot of things could be causing it but I would check those two first. Did anything lead up to it or did just one day it start sputtering?

theres a way to check that canister... i beleave its just a matter of taking it out and smelling it. Its a charcoal filter so u should be able to clean it.
...
it has been doing it for a long time. but it git real bad latley
i think its either your muffler bearings, or Flux Compasitor.
...
^^ lol I've never seen that site before, some good performance ideas there

Hey i changed the o2 sensor and that fixed the problem.
just for maintenance issues you should probly change the blinker fluid while you're at it....
(gotta love red vs blue)

5th one down
Can't wait until next month as they are producing a Roller Camshaft Rotational Dampener, perfect for those of us with 3400's with roller cams.
