You could, but You'd have to convert your car to OBD 2 which would be a pain and a huge wiring nightmare, unless your really good with electronics and have every schematic (sp?) imaginable for both cars, lol
as well as custom mounts
if you realy want a dohc motor, go for a hight output quad 4. 180hp and there isnt as much involved. change the lower frames to beretta, weld in the tranny mount, rewire the car.

what are you talking about?
custam motor mounts and changing sub fraims to that of a L- body car?!
That 89 with the 2.0 should damn near be plug ad play for a vin A quad-4 ( high- output)
however he will have to use a newer motor mount for the timing chain side of the motor.

a friend of mine is in the middle of the quad 4 swap. you need to weld in the tranny mount bracket from a beretta, as well as the front engine mount. you use the frame from the beretta as well as the dogbone is on the pass side with the quad 4. the wiring is the hard part, as the beretta uses one harness for lights and engine, and it has to be seperated. you could use 2.0l ohv wiring, but then you need a custom chip, lots of tuning, ect, were this is garenteed to run the motor the way gm meant it to.
