Okai... so im driving home.. and i notice that after the car warms up... its still puttin out white smoke... i get in to my driveway and get out... and its just billowing out...
I pop the hood ... the antifreeze resivoir is empty... the rad cap is not even hot (and i have been driving for like 30 min)...
so i fill it up... and it takes like half the bottle...
sooo ya... im pissed.... the lil f*ker was replaced November 2003....
so imma replace it myself this time... and im looking to replace the head...
now all of yall who know of me ... i mainly deal with body work... and pretty damn clueless when it comes to performance... (like im ASE Cert Master Tech... i can do mechanics... but when it comes to acquiring performance parts... ehhhh)
So i have a 93 Cavy VL ... 2.2 Litre Automatic...
give me suggestions on which head i should be getting... keep in mind i have no plans to ever turbo charge the motor... but super charging may be a future possibility...
Thats sucks....
There aren't too many aftermarket heads out there for the 2.2 (maybe 1-2), your best bet is to do all the work yourself (or bring it to a machine shop). The 2.2 will open right up with P&P work.
a-ha just the man i was about to call...
hey are you free for me to call you? i need to tap your expert knowledge
hehe

and to maximize performance what specs should i get?
Theres not much difference between that and a stock head. A 3 angle valve job isn't anything to be excited about, since any valve job uses 3 angles. That also uses a factory valvetrain. You're much better off building up the head you already have with a P&P and 1.6 rockers.
I don't really like that store either. Most of the stuff is pretty shady.
I got your message. I'll try and give you a call tomorrow sometime (today I've got way too much going on and I need to start cooking
)
alright... who makes the best roller rockers for our heads?
er... okai.. i read the FAQ on j-body.tk ...
which set of comp. cam rockers do i get... the parts list states
Quote:
-18mm, 15mm, 13mm deep sockets
-15mm wrench
-A long Phillips or star screwdriver
-8mm and whatnot for to take off valve cover
-New Valve Cover Gasket
-8 studs GM part # 476530
-8 New GM Stock 2.2l pushrods GM part #10198813
-8 Comp. Cam 1.6 roller tipped Rocker arms w/8 Fulcrum washers & 8 nuts
-Comp. Cam red lubricant
-Small grinder (4” disc is all I used) of some sort or good drill bits to elongate pushrod guide plate.
-1 Liter of Motor Oil
-Some medium strength Thread Locker
When i go to competition cams website... and search for roller rockers... i get this (the 1.6s being in bold).... do i go for the 3/8 or 7/16s? and are these even the right parts seeing that they are being made for the v6/v8 ... is there any place that distributes em for the 4 cyl to reduce on cost... i only need 8 of em...

1033-12 Chevy 6-Cyl 194-292 Alum. Roller Rockers - 7/16, 1.75 $463.50
Geez. I thought the part number was in there. It is now. There are actually a few different rockers that will work, but Comp is definetely the easiest to do.
i suppose the fraction numbers they give you are the bolt hole size? im not sure. call them...
be like:
"listen here bish's... i need some mother trucking rizockers... and i need them know!"
then they'll laught at you and hang up... you'll both share a laugh... and you'll call back being serious, and find out what ya need.
