I have a 1993 VL Coupe (With Z kit
) 2.2 auto and in drive the car shakes like hell. I usually just throw it in neutral at stoplights but I dont understand why this happens. The car was my grandpas and has 72K on it. Besides the shaking the car runs great, but I think the gas tank has a hole in it, lol.
Thanks
Chris

our ld caravan did the same thing. we never figured it out. i think it might bee the valve body.
Motor mounts are ripped out of it.. look at the front mount.
check the motor mount and check all the spark plug wires i had the same prob and i fixed with new spark plug wires.

Also check the trans mount.
look to see if the rubber is ripped or not even there. but for sure check the wires.

The trans mount and rear mount are known to go bad, and a rough idle in drive is the first sign. If the engine has excessive play, the mount is bad.
where can I buy replacements? I am definantly assuming different mounts on a 2.2 93 than a 2.4 right.
Are there performance ones out? Or stockers are fine too.

yes your right they are different than the 2.4. I havn't seen any performance ones, I had mine custom made and poly....filled but normally you can just buy those at a dealer or something like that.
**changes are here**
There are poly ones. But they cost an arm and a leg from JBP. You're better off filling your own if you want them stiffer (since you'll probably wait 6 months for the JBP ones, just like everyone else).
You can pick up stock replacements at any auto parts store pretty cheap. I would recommend filling the new ones, rather than dealing with old ones, since yours are already on the way out.
Here is a How-To
