one of my HVAC bulbs is burnt out... before i put my white faced HVAC panel on i'd like to replace the bulbs. tried searching interior forum, found mostly 3rd gen stuff.
anyone know what type of bulb i am looking for? (brand, #)

Dealer only. I had the same issue a few years back. Pretty cheap IIRC.

Nope. About 1/3 the size of a 194. I think they come 2 to a box or something.
ooooook, so i finally got a chance to get into the dealership today.... he says he needs the original bulb to match it up with the bulbs he has in stock, or something.
anyway i found the bulb that isn't working (the one closest to the selector that says "hi - lo" etc).... but how do i get it out of the socket? theres only maybe 1/8" of the bulb sticking out of the plastic socket, its hard to grab and i don't want to break the bulb lol... any trick do getting it out without breaking the bulb? is there something i have to squeeze or something?

Just grab it and make a 1/8th turn counter-clockwise (as if you were looking at it from the firewall, clockwise from the seat you are in) and just pull it out...then you will need a small flathead screwdriver to pop the connector out...
i still cant get that stupid bulb out of the socket, lol. theres not enough of it sticking out of the socket to turn it. the bulb is tiny. this connector you're talking about, (that i need the screwdriver for) is that the small metal things in the bottom of the plastic socket that you can see on the outside?
also, just one more... in order to put my new hvac face on i need to get the old face off but the knobs on the sliders (hot to cold, etc that slide across) are in the way. they're really stuck on there and i'm scared to break them by trying to pull them off. is there anything special i should do, or just try and pull the knobs off as hard as i can?
thanks, sorry for all the questions. i dont really know who to take it to... the dealer charges alot even if its a small 5min job and the bulb and socket are right there... so i'm hoping to get it out and changed so i can get my dash back together. thanks again

IIRC, the bulb is part of the plastic socket. Its been a while since I pulled the bulbs out, but I'm pretty sure thats the way it is, almost like a 194.
ok. bulb came out today no problem at all.
now its just those stupid knobs on the ends of the temp selector that slide across, etc that i have to get off to put the new face on. pull em right off?

How flexible is the face? You could try just pushing the parts away to fit the cap through...
lol.. me being all complicated eh hahah..
yeah man, i just took the new face off the backer it was attached to..... it is VERY flexible, and i can fit it over the existing knobs no problem at all! i thought it was really rigid, i left it on the backer until i was completely ready to put it on.... but yeah the new one will fit over them no problem at all!
one of my bad habits... not seeing the easy way all the time, making things complicated LOL.
