The a/c compressor is making noise.
what i am uncertain about is this.
1- i know they make a non a/c belt for the 3.1 ? is can i just hook that up and be good to go?
also- i am reading that you need a water pump pulley AND that belt with no a/c. thus removing the compressor all together.
so tell me how to do this correctly. part #S. i got this part # for the pulley 10044867 . i will call autozone and see if they have it also.
thanks
jake
autozone has nothing .
so only place i can get that pully to bolt up and remove the a/c is at a dealership?
thanks in advance.
i searched v6 z24. com and got these #S . after a hour of searching(not a fan of that sites search option/ found useless info that didnt relate to what i was even remotely looking for)
10044867 for the pulley
and 14092201 for the belt.
it says it is a water pump pulley. ? is that basically a idler pulley? or just the pulley that bolts to the water pump?
can i ask the parts store guy for a idler pulley for a 3.1 with out a/c? or is that the same as 3.1 with ac?
can i just get the pulley from GM, and then go ahead and get a belt from a parts store for a 3.1 with out a/c? as i am sure it will be cheaper.
thanks if anyone reads and replies to this.

also found out a guy just ran a 69inch belt and nothing else and seemed fine. ? any input. i would rather go that route.
also read that a guy used a 67.5 inch belt.
seems like the pulley/ non ac belt is the best way to go.
how to you attach the pulley? it come with bolts or do i have to find something that will work?
can anyone shed some light on this?
Seems to me all you need to do is remove the A/C belt?
it is one big belt that spings the water pump/ alternator/ power steering.
Then just buy a belt for a non-AC 3.1...
No, but Im doing the opposite. Im adding A/C....all that is needed for that is the heater core, condensor, compressor, drier and the lines.
Also the controls and vacuum lines, but the 4cyl is different. the compressor has its own belt on the harmonic balancer.
As far as it seems to me, all you need to do is disable the compressor, which means getting a smaller serpentine belt!
