the front struts are going and need replacement soon and i want something that will raise the height of the car 1 to 5 inches. i'll be changing the rear suspension too so i need a recommendation for that also. i need some really good parts so tell me what the BEST possible is. 89 2.0 coupe.

thank you.

Go to autozone and get some coil spacers....why would you want to raise a bird, though? Trucks are meant to be raised, cars are meant to be lowered...

Any reason you want it to sit higher? Please don't say you're going to take it off road.

TO BE DIFFERENT.

i'd like to put some 19's on it later on in life... maybe next summer/fall.

but please, let me know where i can find coil spacers, if in fact those are what i need.

is there a specific kind of strut also required?

you might also want to check out a set of cargo springs offered by MOOG. they'll raise the car a little while also raising the spring rate.

a local buddy put them on his '91 cav...and ended up finding they were pretty decent springs for autox.
i use z24 cargo springs for the back of my wagon. good stuff.

sorry about the delay...i kinda work during the week and enjoy sleeping.

MOOG offers four types of cargo springs. there is one style of fronts for all body styles, be it coupe, 'vert...whatever. there are three styles of rear springs: standard (for the average 2.2 coupe & sedan), z24, and wagon. i got all of mine (one set of rears for each z24 and wagon just to experiment). from eBay. if summit carries the rears, call & ask about the fronts as well, as they're distinctly different from the rears!
if no go at summit, do a little online search for the MOOG homesite and go from there. sadly, i no longer have the part numbers for any of the springs, but they shouldn't be terribly tough to find.

thank you very much sir.

i kinda got fired at the end of may with a 'promise' of re-hiring soon.

they just gave me a new interview last week and they're talking 8/14 as a start date and a 5k paycut.

so i may be on here more than your average bear.

might as well replace 'em all at the same time as the springs...since you'll have it off the ground and apart and all that.
kyb gr-2 are available for front and rear last i checked. they're a very decent option to have. kyb also offers the gas-a-just rear shock that is less expensive and might suit you fine.
