2.4 eco

I know Im probly gonna get flamed for this but I have a chance to buy a 2.4 eco motor and 5 spd tranny well pretty much the front half of the car frpm just behind the front seats.
I know it takes alot of work but has anyone ever done this swap its going into a 92 pontiac sunbird
I have everything cause the guy that has it cut the car in half it only has 17000 miles on it and it was totaled hes going to give it all to me for 350 bucks. I know this is cheap but I goto church with the guy and he wants it gone. so how hard is the swap on a scale of 1-10. Im very experienced in automotive work. and thought this would be a great project.

on a scale of 1-10, 10 being hardest, id rate it a 20. the motor will not bolt in, custom mount brackets are needed. the biggest issue is the drive by wire and vvt. you would need a stock computer to run this, but the stock computer will need to see every single computer that came in that car in order to run the motor. basicly you need every module, every wire, every sensor, basicly everything with a wire conected to it in order for it to all work out. another big issue is all the newer gm cars are going to electronic power steering, and thats also computer controlled and would need to be functioning in the car.

even if you do get all this to work, you are only rewarded with 175hp.

you wont have the tail light wiring or any rear air bag sensors, or any rear curtain air bags.

2.0 would work but.... welding in all new mounts some form of engine management, new tranny, new linkages ect........ wouldn't be worth it IMO unless you had the knowledge to pull it off...
