2.0 Turbo problems please help
Friday, February 01, 2008 11:03 AM
It was running fine when I went to work, after work when I started it, it was running really ruff, like it's only running on 3 cyl. I shut it off right away, then it didn't want to start again. I finally got it to start by putting the gas to the floor, like it's flooded, it was still making some noise, but nowhere near as loud, kinda faintly. I drove it home, and as soon as I parked it idled way down and stalled out. then when I start it again later, same thing, I have to put the pedal down to get it to start, and it sounds like it's running on 3 cyl again, now every time I try to start it it sounds this way.

I ran the codes, and here's what I come up with:
-33 MAP Sensor
-34 Vacuum Sensor circuit. The engine must run for atleast 5 min.,below 800 rpm, before this code will set.
-42 Electronic Spark Timing (EST) bypass circuit grounded

So far I have:
-Replaced the MAP sensor
-Replaced the Dist. cap, Rotor and module

I'm going to check the compression, and vacuum lines today, anyone have any ideas or input on my problem?????

What kind of noise is it making?

It almost sounds like you have a vacuum leak to me, would explain the faint/wandering idle anyway.
