stock springs with kyb agr's

I have a 97 sunfire GT with the fe2 suspension, I don't want to drop it because my driveway has a steep angle & Arkansas has really big potholes. My question is would I benefit with OEM springs & kyb agr's? I will also be adding Eibach sway bars. It's a daily driver & I do not auto cross, I just want to hug corners better.

you mean agx's? sure you would because its better than an oem strut but if your not changing the springs why not just get the gr-2s or hp's?

Most aftermarket struts are better than stock. AGX and GR2 would be very good. Also Tokico makes HP, D-Specs. Koni makes Yellows, though they are a bit of overkill for stock springs, it would work just fine though.

If you're just looking for a minimal upgrade I would go with KYB GR2s or Tokico HPs.
If you're looking for a bit more, with adjustability: KYB AGXs
If you're looking for the most: Tokico D-Specs or Koni Yellows.

Reading the FAQ would have had all this information plus much more too: Suspension FAQ

I agree with everyone's reccomendations on the AGX's.

As far as the eibach sway bars go, I would stay away. You already have a front sway bar, and adding just a rear bar will be pleanty IMO.

I'm runnin AGX's on stock springs for the time being (weather permitting, gonna throw on the Pro-Kit that's been sittin in my garage for the last month). That set-up seems to be workin well.

Since you are still gonna be ridin stock height, you will need to adjust up the dampers quite a bit to "hug the corners." On the other hand, once the struts are installed, should you decide to go for a drop later, you're halfway done... just gotta get the springs next. That will help.

Probably a strut tower brace can be added as well. Either GM factory from the convertable models for the front or... recommendations anyone?

I am now using AGXs on stock springs. I used the Teins H-techs and I looked underneath and it was to low for daily driving (looked mean though). So now I have those springs sitting in the box.
Let me tell you it made a world of a difference (AGX-stock springs). With these shocks the stance seems to be more aggressive then the with stock shocks and my friends agree.
As for hugging corners, the AGX will be great, hell I am now finally getting traction too!
The swaybars/stabilizer bars from Eibach will help with the bodyroll and with it a little more front end push (understeer). Like Zach said, slap a rear bar only to get more of a neutral handling.

Whats wrong with the Eibach anti-roll kit? (was thinking about getting it in the future, FE2 now, but am also getting the Prokit/AGX combo, and Control Arm Bushings too)

^What's wrong with it, nothing. To each their own. Just understand what different sizes will do for you and pick what you want. Read the FAQ for some guidance.

There's nothing wrong with their kit. However adding the addco rear bar will give you more nuetral steering than buying the eibach kit.

The eibach front swaybar is larger than the rear, this helps produce understeer, which your car already has plenty of. Leaving the stock front, and putting the 1" addco on the rear will give you a more nuetral feel.

I have stock springs with AGX's (H&R springs go on when it warms up) and an Addco rear swaybar. Handling is awesome

You should also look at getting some nice tires to go with it. Tires will make the biggest difference. You won't feel the full benefit of the suspension till you have some rubber to go with it.

If you take your time and tune your suspension correctly your car will handle awesome.

IMO, the tires ive got now are the by far some of the best for the stock wheels. Ive got a set of BF Goodrich Traction T/A's that ive been very very happy with. Overall, i would like to reduce the minivan rolling feel, thus why having the eibach kit. in stock form, she does handle very well, with the T/A's i have had no complaints what so ever (of course im comparing my Sunfire to my old Sunbird, which i replaced the front suspension on with new stock parts).. It you think about it, the ECOTEC J's have a 24mm setup on the front IIRC, while the FE2 on the 95-99 is 22 obviously. The Eibach kit is 26ish or so, so its not much bigger than that setup, and i get a bar in the rear. The whole AGX/Prokit combo will be in the mix to, just getting some better opinions.
