Rear sway bar next?

Well, I should be installing me yellows/goldlines this week and I am wondering what I should do next with it? Since I have the stock 24mm front bar I was thinking about the 25.4mm rear bar. I don't autocross at all, but I like to have fun on some curvy roads when I get the chance. What do you think?

It wil give you slight oversteer. It can be good if that's what you want. Otherwise, it may be just a bit too large. Up to you really.

keep in mind if you have the FE2 suspension you have the stock rear bar also

id stick with a 3/4" rear bar

Addco makes a 7/8 and a 1" rear sway bar for the J-bodies.

How do I know which package I have? Either way if there is a bar back there, its not a sway bar from what I read.

look at the build data on the spare tire cover , each code is 3 digits , and are in alphabetical order

when you see the F's look for the FE0 , FE1 or FE2

the FE2 has the large front bar , and rear bar

the rear bar is welded into the V chanel of the rear axle

It's not a real sway bar, it's a bit of extra metal in the torsion axle. I can't tell the difference between cars that do and don't have it.

If you want neutral steering you need a slightly larger bar in the front, because the front weights more (thus wanting to sway more). A difference of 2 or 3mm will produce a neutral setup (front being 2-3 larger than the rear).

If they are equal sizes, or the rear is larger, you'll get oversteer.
If the front is larger (stock) you'll get understeer.

I have the Addco front and rear bars. I personally wouldn't want to be without the front bar with a rear sway bar this big (1"). That's just my opinion though.

cts if you cant tell the FE0 or FE1 vs a FE2 something is wrong

lol

ive got 2 sedans with the FE1 , and the g/f has a FE2 , and its a night and day difference

even with the stock FE1 18mm bar and a 3/4" rear aftermarket bar , hers handled better , only time mine felt better was when i moved to 225/45/17's from the stock size 16's

i'm running a 25.4mm rear with the stock fe2 front bar (the 02's had a slightly smaller front bar than the 03+) and my car handles just fine. when i first put the rear on, i had just the stock front bar, a front strut tower brace, and my koni/goldline combo. if you REALLY push the car through a corner, the rear will kick out. i've since added a rear strut tower bar, subframe brace, and poly endlinks to the front bar and it's fairly neutral now.

You don't think there's a weight discrepency? I think the sedan's extra rear end weight could cause what you're feeling.

i dont think the weight difference is that much that it would make a night and day difference

ive been in a 02 Z24 sedan with FE2 , and it handled very similar to her car if not the same

the stock rear bar does help

best i can say is to put the FE0/1 car next to a FE2 , and jack them up and let the rear suspension hang down , and undo the lower shock mounting point

and see which rear axle twists more , and the FE0/1 will flop around like a fish outta water

i call that running out of talent.
i say get the big bar there and call it done! you will like it! the amount of over-steer can be tuned with strut settings and tire pressure.

see ya!

I said cars that have the FE2 rear axle or not. I've driven a car with the FE2 front (22mm) and the FE0 rear (no metal chunk); feels just the same to me as my FE2 F+R setup.

You're right that anyone can tell the difference between FE0, 1, and 2.
