I have a 1998 cavalier. red 2 door. 5% tint.
its totaly stock. with the stock 98' hubbies and lo-profile tires. and air ride. how will it sit?

what kind of modifications do i have to make to lay?

any pics of a cavy bagged with no kit i would appreciate.
thanks!

cavy:bagged easystreet front, bags to be in in back soon, tubd, 18s.
celica gt-s:6speed, AEM Cold air, hi flow cat, muffler deletion, NGK plugs, Carbon fiber headliner, B&M shift kit, sportline 2.2" drop, factory rear disk brakes 1/4: 14.5sec. top speed: 145mph

wait.... if its already bagged on stock stuff, don't you know how it will lay out?

Or

are you asking, if I put air ride on, how will it lay out with out mods?

Its pretty much going to go as low as the tires let it. The tires are going to stop you from laying out.

The front frame rail needs to be notched to go lower. And the rear needs to be tubbed to go lower back there.

Lot of welding required.

actually in the rear if you tub it and your on easystreet struts you wont lay out all the way. the struts are to long and you bottom out the struts. so if you want to lay hard you have to make your own setup. the front is way more difficult then the rear.

i dont mind welding....

im building a minitruck. bodydrop on 22" with full 3x3 box steal chassis. so welding is no issue.
im looking for the mods, exactly that i gotta make,.... progress pics prefered.

if you YOURSELF are building a bd truck on 22's you should be able to figure out how to slam a cav. its super easy just need the time and skills

^^

i can figure it out. but i have to get this done on a timely manner. since its my daily. each vehicle is diffrent. and have thier own tricks. i can tell you things that you'd run into on an s10 if you're trying to slam 20's, non body dropped, that you would never know until you got it all put back together and it wont lay.

i didnt think it would be a big deal.

That white cav in that pic is mine!! If you are going to get low profile tires, don't get tires that are too wide! I have 225/40/18's on my car right now. But, I think the next time that I get tires I will probably be going with something more along the lines of a 215/40/18. The wide tires that I have now is part of what is holding me up from tucking a little better. (just a heads up on tires) The other thing that is still holding me up is the fact that I havn't finished modifying my fender lips yet.
I hope to have my fenders modded on my next cycle off of work. I work 8 10 hour days in a row and then I get 6 days off. Man I love long weekends!

well heres pics of mine this is with the easy street rears in and tubed on 205/40/17 tires even though everyone will tell you not to run those oh well its not that big of a deal. the front i just beat the inner wells in and i will get around to cutting them out and putting new ones in but i dont have time right now. i have one of the lowest laying on here other than spyderwizard but i havent seen him on here in along time. i dont have pics but im less the 1/4" from laying subframe in the front. and i lay the rear of my side skirts.

and of course one of my dragin pics

Re: Air ride

it really sucks when you come home from work every day, and see a big box of air struts sitting in your room, and you know you can't put them on yet, because your waiting on the rest of the stuff. lol.

*almost a run on sentence, gotta love comma's.

well my dear friend full cav, it really REALLY sucks to come home to nothing thats even closely remote to air ride, not even struts. because im waiting on ANY/ALL of the stuff not just part of it.

hell, ill even be happy to receive a damn tracking number at this point. its been a week now and no word other than "its suppose to be shipping out" or "we are waiting on some parts to come in", is what jason is being told every day he checks!

if you want to be slammed dont get the easystreet rear fronts r good though
if your a minitrucker the rear is like a 2 link just bag off the axle to the rear hat channel itr hold up good just tub the rear then its easy seeing as they suck so far forward its just like doing your firewall on the s10 just in the rear of the cavi
the front the tranny pan limits how loiw you can go pull your fenders off you will see a little pinch weld just pound it up flat and you will lay tranny pan on stockers if you want to go any lower in the front you have to raise the motor and trans.

very well said i never thought of explaning it like the 2 link cuz alot of guys on here dont know much about bagging trucks, and the firewall thing its the same exact thing

sounds like you need to beat work the inside of the fenders with a hammer.

one of these days i might tell you how to lay the front the rest of the way out so this statement will actually be true lol
Re: Air ride

its just like doing a mini truck in the bed. Notch frame, lift up anything in the way. and if the struts bottom out before its all the way down, extend strut towers.

simple....
