questions about tein basics??
Friday, April 13, 2007 8:51 PM
i am currently looking into buying the tein basics but i want to know a couple of things about them before i decide. first of all if i want to adjust the height on them must i do it when it is off the car or can i adjust the height while they are on the car?? second, after i adjust the height each time would i have to get an alignment?? or should i just find a height i like and stay with it??any other kind of info about this suspension setup would be appreciated...thanks

No, I just recommend that you pull the wheel off of whatever corner you're adjusting, it just makes it easier, and as far as alignment, get it aligned after you install em, but as far as adjusting the height afterwards it won't affect the alignment, only the camber will change as you go down further.

It isn't a pain at all, the coilovers come with two spanner wrenches, and its just as easy as turning the spring perches.

alright man thanks...do you think that if i bought a camber kit it would help out since you said that if i adjust them after the alignment it would only change the camber

Not really, once it's set, it really doesn't change that much, especially if you drop it a good amount, get an alignment, and then start changing the ride height. I personally plan on getting a camber kit but only cause I auto-X and want the adjustability.
