you can use your stock ones but i would DEFFIDENTLY suggest you buy new struts made for lowering. i know from experience. i am on gr2's with dropzone springs and it rides like a brick. i feel like a bobble head so i would deffidently invest in some new lowering struts.
like KYB's ? where can i get struts like that? can i get them at advanced auto or auto zone?

trust me you dont want kyb gr2s. all they are is a stock replacement really. not really sure if you can get at autozone or what not. but i am pretty sure they sell them on gravana or something. i personally would not buy them though if i were you. i just dont want you to make the same mistake i did.
ok

kyb also makes the agx which is an adjustable lowering strut capible of springs up to 1.5" of drop. anything lower that 1.5" should be koni yellows or tokico dspecs. also imo if you get coilovers, just get either the yellows or dspecs.
the RK's are just springs , the front is 1.60 and the rear is 1.40

you could get away with using agx's then. i really wouldnt go lower than 1.6" though on agxs.
ok, whats the cheaper priced strut for lowering springs ? with having the Escort , cav and now my 52 ford that im building i gotta go for the cheaper prices

KYB AGX struts would be the cheapest struts for doing it right. Anything cheaper would be a stock replacement strut, and a risky prospect for lowering of any amount.

More than I would pay, but not surprising for a brick and mortar retailer. I would take a look at eBay, even though it's not a completely fair comparison since eBay sellers can often keep their costs lower, and may not come good for warranty issues.
Here are some on eBay.
You'll notice that a complete set of four can be had for as little as $350. Even the top-dollar sellers are looking for less than $150 each. So yeah... $185 each is a bit steep.

i am on a sort of budget since i just got a 52 ford as a street rod project , so what ever i can do to save some cash is good
