Well, my Addco rear anti-sway bar arrived today. The instructions that are packaged with it are a bit of a joke, but there is one point of concern I have. On all the pictures and research I've done on here, everybody installs the "D" bushings facing downwards, but Addco's little diagram shows them facing upwards into the "hollow" of the axle. Now I haven't gone to the car to check if this way would even work, (and I probably won't get a chance till the weekend), but can anybody please tell me if I'm missing someting here? Which is the correct way?

If you just got your bar, and you got replacement shock bolts,
Then the 'D' bushings face down.
Addco left the older instructions in with the kits.
So the diagram is incorrect.

Incidentally, I'm a bit less than impressed by the durability of the black finish they're using on the bars now. This is what mine is doing after only three months. Granted, my car stays outdoors all the time, and some of that might just be rust runoff from the rest of the underbody, but still.

They must not have updated the instructions. With the old bar, you tucked them up inside the axle:

I'd say just tighten until secure, and re-tighten as necessary a couple of tanks of gas later. I might have been a little overzealous with the tightening on my U-bolts, since it would appear in my photo above that the bracket has sunk slightly into the bottom of the axle. At least I know it's not going anywhere. The end-link bolts only need to be tight enough to slightly sandwich the bushings, without excessively distorting them.

One more question. The instructions say to grease the bushings before installing them. What kind of grease should I use?

Use a VERY light coating of dielectric grease. If you use too much, dirt will get stuck to it.

so theres so 2 ways to mount the addco's? i have both, an older (gold) one and i just bought a new (black) one, i know you said geeky had it right zach... but i like the way yours is installed better, it tucks under the axel and to me that looks cleaner and more professional. can i install my new (black) one the way you did yours or is simply impossible? could i use the bushings and such off the gold bar on the black bar to achieve the 'tucked' install?
also, i havnt measured/checked yet... but honestly, to me my new black one seems smaller than my gold one, possibly lighter as well... did they make 2 different sizes?

I looks to me like the old bar had a more agressive bend in it to allow it to tuck underneath. If you'll imagine my d-bushing reversed and tucked up, the bar simply would not clear the axle.

At least as a daily driver, mine doesn't get a lot of attention to the underside.
I'd probably still have better luck if my car at least got access to a garage.

yeah i see what you mean geeky... oh well, i like the black one better still... just means it wont be as clean looking as it could be, which means more stand-out-ish, which is what i like on this car (to an extent) anyways, but sometimes with certain things i like it be have the clean look.

I got mine from
Never Enough Auto. I actually got my rear Addco on eBay through them for a few bucks less than they show on their site, but they only seem to have the front Addco bar on eBay at the moment.

Little late, but yeah the newer shorter bars can't tuck.

Mine tucked in. I think I like that better. The endlinks were shorter too, to the point that I had the same ground clearance after as I did before (at least relating to the axle).
My guess is that the less aggressive bend is easier/cheaper to manufacture. It still looks like a nice product. The gold coating on mine stayed pretty good, I didn't even really have any rust on mine when I sold it to Boosted2200, and it was a daily driver/winter driver.
