I'm getting ready to change the struts on my 1999 cavy. wondering a couple of things actually..:
1. anything special i need to watch out for?
2. will i need to get the a 4 wheel alignment after i change them?
Thanks for the help
Josh
You have to watch out for the springs when you let tme go. If you dont have the proper tools, its a good idea to find someone that does. Yes, you will need a re-alignment
Spring compressors. Front mounts are different than most other years. You can just replace part of the front mounts on 99, and not the whole assembly if need be. Autozone had the wrong mounts last time I was looking for new mounts.

i just did my 97. buy or rent a spring compressor, torque wrench, and impact gun. they will be your friend during this procedure. also, rear struts are an 18mm bolt on the lower strut bolt/trailing arm... found that out the hard way. i put in new front bearings, original mounts front and rear.
bank on a couple of hours to get this done. and you should get an alignment everytime you modify anything of the suspension.
