the car: 96 Z24, auto.

the issue: Power steering high pressure line keeps coming off.

I replaced the line about 4 months ago, and its every so often the line keeps coming undone from where it goes into the rack. yes its hard to get in there, but let me assure you, i got that thing REALLY tight. i was able to use my crow's foot and crank the bejesus out of that thing. seemed tight. 2 weeks later its off. So i cleaned up the area with a solvent (brake clean iirc), used RED loctite on it, and cranked it down! came loose last night. it's really pissing me off cause 1.) its my sisters car 2.) im not just anyone working on a car, i've been working in a shop for 5 years, and working towards L1 ase cert.

anyone have a problem like this? Im thinkin either bad line, or bad rack. ideas?

Never heard of it before....sounds like bad rack, and line by now. I got a 'used' rack from ebay once with everything on it for like $45.00 and it worked out great. I have put 80k miles on the egay rack and it's still tight, no complaints.
